As an actress, Debby Dodds performed in films, onstage and on TV. Even when she auditioned for serious dramatic projects, she often ended up getting a role as "the comic relief." She knew early on to embrace that in her second career as a writer. She has been published in magazines and anthologies and will be reading a few of her humorous essays and answering questions about how to find the "funny."

Comedic writing is an elusive goal because humor comes in a myriad of ways: silly, sarcastic, punny, gross, ironic and slapstick, just to name a few. We'll be exploring many of these guises of comedy through writing exercises, improv games, and readings excerpts of some of the masters. Come with an open mind, a creative spirit and a generous sense of humor.
